Hamas Chief Stresses Muslim World’s Action to Stop Israeli Crimes

IQNA – The head of Hamas resistance movement’s Political Bureau called on Muslim world countries and scholars to take practical measures to bring an end to the Israeli regime’s crimes against Palestinians.

In a message on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, Ismail Haniyeh stressed the need for effective action from Muslim countries’ leaders and Islamic scholars in different political, diplomatic and legal fields to end the Israeli aggression on Palestine, especially Gaza, and to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Alam reported.

He said there should be pressure on countries supporting the Zionist regime to force it to stop the war unconditionally.

Haniyeh also called for expediting the dispatch of humanitarian aid to Gaza and the reopening of border crossings to meet the immediate needs of people in the coastal enclave.  

“This year, our people are welcoming the holy month of Ramadan with a heart full of pain and hope,” he said, adding that the Palestinian people are facing the most heinous massacre and a genocidal war in Gaza.

He described the Zionist regime as the root cause of all problems and instabilities in the region and said the regime’s crimes will not stop the resistance of Palestinians who seek freedom, independence and creation of a Palestinian state with the holy city of al-Quds as its capital.

The holy fasting month of Ramadan has started in the Gaza Strip as Israel is pressing ahead with its genocidal war on the besieged Palestinian territory exacerbating a humanitarian crisis there.

Monday marked the beginning of Ramadan, during which Muslims abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset, in Gaza, where the entire 2.2 million population are unable to meet their food needs.

Israel launched its deadly war on Gaza on October 7, 2023. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 31,045 people have been killed and 72,654 wounded in Israeli attacks. About 72 percent of the victims are children and women.

More than five months of brutal Israeli attacks have also caused extreme hunger among the Gazans.
